ART IN THE PARK - Ventura. For Artists interested in selling their art on Saturdays. Selling art in this way is very difficult and takes time to develop the right combination of work, display, and price to make it worth while. The usual price to be in a show like this is from $35 to $85 or more. The organizers will try to keep the show at the price of $20 per Saturday, if possible. This is a non-profit organization run under the umbrella of the Ventura Artists Union. Your payments will go toward paying the $100 per week fee for renting the park space from the City. The payments will also, and most importantly, be used for advertising the show and your individual art! Your dues to the Artists Union help pay for the insurance necessary to be in the park, which they have graciously agreed to take care of. In addition to free calendar spots in newspapers and web sites the organizers plan to pay for ads in magazines and other publications. Furthermore, they plan to create a web site for the Ventura Art In The Park show. The regular artists that show up most of the time will be featured on the web site, with pictures, contact information, prices and bios. This web site will be included in all advertising so that thousands of people seeing the ads each week will simply have to pull up our site and see what we have to offer! Photos of "your" art will be included in the paid advertising on a revolving list basis, which will again reach thousands of perspective buyers. "My aim is not only to sell my own art but also to help others do likewise. I get great satisfaction in sharing what I have learned, and at the same time appreciate learning form the sweat and tears of others. I hope you will consider joining us in the park on Saturdays and take charge of your own future and success," photographer Schaf, who is leading this effort. For details contact him at schaf@west.net.
